Certainly, it should be possible to make a reservation even with a small number of people, but in the case of reservation, there is a memory that it was not possible to enter the store unless everyone was ready because it should not be possible to meet at the store because it must be entered by 18:00 . But the taste and atmosphere of the oldest store in Tokyo was very good.

Off the beaten track, typical food and menu only in Japanese. The owner made his best to get our preferences and put together a great selection of sashimi and tempura for us, for a very very good price, considering we had cold sake with the food and hot sake to finish the meal

Beautiful izakaya, they don’t have English menu, but they are friendly people, horse tartare is a must try.

A long-established izakaya founded in 1868. As you can see, you can enjoy very cheap and delicious snacks with sake. This time, 2 people visited. Ask for cold sake and eat the rice bran with the rice bran. This is delicious. For the time being, I ordered a platter of pickles and horse meat. These two points are indispensable gems. The pickles are Chinese cabbage, cucumbers, eggplants and shibazuke, all of which are soaked well and go well with sake. Horse meat is served with ginger soy sauce. I have a favorite restaurant in Nagano where I often eat horse meat, but the level of freshness is comparable to that. Sake has progressed with good salt and plum so I ordered additional meat tofu, kinuka next, nuta and eggplant grill. All are delicious. Eat curry at 〆, about 3000 yen per person. It was a great and satisfying drink.

Gaijin not super welcome but if you speak some japanese to the waiters it will be fine. Amazing hokke

Amazing experience in the 100+ year old restaurant. Would highly recommend having a Japanese speaking friend do the ordering. CASH ONLY

I met a realy nice person named "Aira" who helped me to understand the menu (only in kanji) the 6oct maybe. This is a beautifull place so typical with great food, great people

Compared with 20 years ago, it is an atmosphere that does not change either now or in the past. As always there are a lot of regular customers and they loved. SAKE's lineup was not rich, which reduced the value as IZAKAYA.

So authentic, and it's the oldest izakaya in Tokyo (or at least in Tokyo, according to the introduction at Tabelog). Super alive vibe, and only locals know and LOVE it!
